What Kove is.

Kove is a flexible health journal you can write to in a message. It is made and run by one person, Filippo Brintazzoli, in Italy, and this agreement is between you and him. How your data is handled is a separate document, the privacy policy, and it is part of this one.

Kove is not a medical service

It is a journal for general wellness. It does not give medical advice, it does not diagnose anything, it does not treat anything, and nothing it shows you should be taken as a professional opinion. Its figures are estimates and it says so where it shows them. If something about your health matters, take it to a doctor or a dietitian, and do not change a medication, a treatment or a clinical diet because of something Kove said.

The food figures are not advice

Describe a meal and Kove works out its calories and macronutrients, so that your record has a number in it. For common foods and branded products it uses public reference tables and the figures on the label, and it estimates whatever it cannot find there. Either way they are figures you asked for and keep for yourself: a table can be wrong, and an estimate is still an estimate. They are not nutritional or dietary advice, not a meal plan, and not a judgement about what you ate. An amount you state yourself always beats one Kove worked out, and every figure it writes is yours to correct where it sits.

It is not a tool for treating an eating disorder

Kove shows calorie and weight figures. It is built not to judge them, which is not the same as being safe for somebody with a difficult relationship to food or to their body. If that is you, please talk to a professional. A journal is not what will help.

You need to be 18

Kove is for adults. If you are under 18, do not create an account.

This is a beta

Kove is early software, open by invite, and it is offered as it is. It can break. It can be unavailable. Features can change or be removed. There is no uptime promise and no promised response time. Data can be lost, and although Kove takes a backup every night, use the export whenever what is in there matters to you.

Your account.

For now Kove is invite only. An account belongs to one person, so please do not share it or hand it on. Keep your password to yourself, and tell Kove at the address in the privacy policy if you think somebody else has had access to your account.

What not to do with it

  • Do not put somebody else's health information into it without them knowing and agreeing.
  • Do not try to break it, overload it, get at other people's data, or work around the limits that keep it running for everybody.
  • Do not resell it, or use it to build a competing service.
  • Do not use it for anything illegal.

Kove's AI can be wrong

Kove's figures are estimates, and every amount you state yourself explicitly wins over one the model worked out. The AI can misread a photograph, mishear a sentence, or file something in the wrong place. Everything it writes can always be corrected, and anything that really matters to you is worth checking.

Your journal is yours.

Everything you write, photograph and log stays yours. Kove claims no ownership of any of it. The only permission you give is the one Kove needs to run the service for you: to store your record, show it back to you, and send what you write to the AI provider so it can answer. Nothing more.

What Kove will never do with it

  • Never use it to train a model, Kove's or anybody else's.
  • Never sell it, rent it, or pass it to an advertiser.
  • Never read it out of curiosity.
  • Never publish it or show it to another user, unless you choose to.

Kove's own part

The software, the name and the design are Kove's. Using the service does not give you a licence to copy it.

Payments.

These are the terms of a Kove subscription, written down so that nobody meets them for the first time at a checkout.

Thirty days first, and no card

Every account starts with a free trial of thirty days. Kove does not ask for a card to begin it, and nothing is charged when it ends: the trial simply stops. Until you choose to subscribe, nothing has been sold to you.

What it costs

€4.99 a month, or €39 a year. One price for everyone, with no discount that depends on who is asking, and the figure shown at checkout is the figure charged, VAT included. The first 50 people who came from the waitlist, before Kove opens to the public, are offered €29 a year, and that stays €29 for as long as the subscription runs without a break.

Who you are buying from

Dodo Payments Inc is the merchant of record for a Kove subscription. It is the seller on the receipt: it takes the payment, handles the VAT and issues your invoice, and its own terms cover the payment itself. Kove never sees your card number and never stores it.

Renewing, and stopping

A subscription renews on its own at the end of each period, at the same price, until you stop it. You can stop it whenever you like, from the same place you manage the card, with no reason asked and nobody to write to. It keeps working until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then it does not renew.

Fourteen days to change your mind

EU law gives you fourteen days to withdraw from something bought at a distance. Kove does not ask you to give that right up in order to start using what you paid for. Write to [email protected] within fourteen days of a payment and it is returned, with no questions and no form to fill in.

If a payment does not go through

Nothing is cut off on the first failure. The card is tried again over the following days and you are told. If it still does not work, the subscription ends.

Your journal does not depend on paying

When a trial ends, or a subscription does, the writing stops and nothing else does. Your journal stays readable and you can export all of it, free, at any time. Nothing is deleted because a payment stopped, and nothing is held back to make you pay.

If the price changes

Kove may change its prices, for example when running it starts to cost more. You will be told at least 30 days before a new price applies to you, and it never applies to a period you have already paid for. If you do not want to pay it, stop the subscription before it renews and nothing more is charged. The early bird price is the one exception: it stays €29 a year for as long as your subscription runs without a break.

Ending it.

You can leave whenever you like

Delete your account in Settings. Export first if you want your record, which is free and needs nobody's permission. Cancelling a subscription is a separate thing, covered above; deleting the account ends both.

Kove can close an account

If somebody does one of the things these terms forbid, or uses Kove in a way that risks other people's data. You will be told why, and given a chance to export unless the reason makes that impossible.

If Kove shuts down

You will be told at least 30 days before it happens. Nothing renews after that, the time you have already paid for and cannot use is refunded, and you can take your whole record out before anything is deleted. The export works at any point and needs nobody's permission, so it is worth using before you need it.

The legal part.

No warranty

Kove is provided as it is, without any warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. Nothing here takes away a right you have as a consumer under Italian or EU law.

Liability

Kove is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for anything that follows from relying on it as medical advice, which it is not. Liability is not limited for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow to be limited.

Which law, and where

Italian law applies. If you are a consumer in the EU, you keep the right to bring a case in the country where you live, and nothing here changes that.

If these terms change

The date at the top moves. A change that matters to you, rather than a correction to a detail, is also sent to you by email. If you do not agree with it, delete your account and take your record with you.

More about privacy.

This page is about the service. Which data Kove keeps, where it is stored and how you can export or delete it is in the privacy policy.
